We hope you are doing well and that your soul is flourishing! Here's a little update from the end of last year.Last autumn and winter were full of life here—sometimes peaceful, sometimes more lively. In addition to maintaining the house and doing practical work, we had the privilege of being involved in many things.
At the end of August, we hosted a “Day of Encountering God” at Koivumäki with Jon and Margot Nairn from Australia. We received a lot of great feedback about how God spoke to and touched people’s lives in a powerful way. We felt their visit was a significant moment—a kind of “new beginning” for the work at Koivumäki. Through them, we received much wisdom and encouragement from God.
In mid-September, Vesi Nousee (Water is Rising) prayer network held a prayer and fasting weekend in our facilities. That same weekend, Koivumäki’s intercessory prayer school also began. It gathered on Fridays to pray for global situations. We witnessed the impact of prayer when we listened to God and prayed together in unity. There is strength in connection! The prayer school has been led by Mark, Tapio, and Sini, who also led the previous prayer school at Koivumäki.
We also had Open Evenings every other Wednesday. These evenings were warm and filled with a tangible sense of God's presence. On Independence Day, we concluded the 2024 intercessory prayer school with a 24-hour worship and prayer event. It was a powerful way to end the year, and we found the overnight prayer time to be incredibly inspiring and meaningful. We had a good number of participants, and many chose to stay overnight.
In December, we hosted a Christmas celebration, inviting all the neighbors from the surrounding area. This was a continuation of the Summer Neighbor Day, where we served pancakes and sausages and invited everyone in the neighborhood. The Christmas party was well-received—many found it meaningful and traditional. The program included a few speeches, reading the Christmas Gospel, singing carols, and serving porridge and Christmas pastries. We were pleasantly surprised by how many people from the local area showed up.
Now we look ahead to this new year with excitement, eager to see what God has in store for 2025!
